Robin Lockett for Florida House District 63

Robin Lockett
Servant Leader | Community Empowerment Advocate | Civic Educator
I believe education is the foundation of empowerment. It is how we shift power, build confidence, and equip our communities to make informed decisions about the issues that directly impact our lives.
My work has always centered on one mission: ensuring that our community has the knowledge, access, and tools necessary to advocate for ourselves and influence systems that were not originally built with us in mind.
I do not believe in standing on the sidelines. I believe in organizing, educating, mobilizing, and leading with purpose.
As Regional Director for FAIR Districts, I championed efforts to end partisan gerrymandering and fought to ensure that legislative boundaries reflect fairness, not manipulation. Representation matters — and I worked to protect the integrity of our democracy.
As Regional Director of NextGen Climate, I intentionally worked to bridge the gap between climate awareness and the Black community. Environmental justice is economic justice. It is health justice. It is generational justice. I helped foster conversations that connected climate issues to the everyday realities of our community.
Serving as NAACP Political Chair, I organized political forums, led voter registration initiatives, partnered with local sororities to establish adopted polling sites, and educated residents on the power of civic engagement. I believe participation is power — and I worked to increase both.
As President of the Hillsborough County Democratic Black Caucus, I organized political forums throughout the county, spoke in support of laws that uplift the black community and spoke against those laws that did not. I led efforts to endorse and elect qualified Black Democratic candidates, expand the Black voting bloc, and create pathways for aspiring leaders. Building political infrastructure within our community is essential to long-term influence.
I also served as a Board Member of the Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan (THAP), contributing to initiatives focused on comprehensive and sustainable community development.
Currently, as Regional Director for Florida Rising in the Tampa Bay Region, I focus on equipping residents to advocate for local priorities. By providing strategic resources, organizing support, and leadership development, we empower people to drive change within their neighborhoods and influence policy decisions. Our present focus is addressing housing challenges and advancing equitable solutions that promote stability and opportunity.
At my core, I am a servant leader. I lead by listening. I lead by educating. I lead by building.
My commitment remains the same: to strengthen our community through knowledge, advocacy, and meaningful action — because when people are informed, they are empowered. And when they are empowered, they create change.
